Last night, I read Super Diaper Baby a good night book and then I decided to start teaching her ABC's from Hooked on Phonics series Learn to Read. It was hard because she can't sit still enough. She learned just the ABC's and we went to bed. This morning we woke up and I asked her to find the ABC's and she did it. We also had a book and it's hunting for letters. She is doing much better. I will have Captain Underpants help me out with this because she loves her brother and she likes competition.
I have rented some CD's from the library and we are listening some songs from the CD "Where is Thumbkin?" and it is pretty good. She was listening and now she is not. Today we will continue to work on ABC's and get her more familiar with it and than move on to DEF's. I try to incorporate the small letters but it was too hard for her and confused her except the letters that look alike such as Cc.
Captain Underpants is doing his independent math. He fell asleep doing his math last night so he need to finish a few pages if he wants to watch Bakugan. I had him rewrite and redo couple pages because he didn't get it right. Often times he knows the answer on the multipliction and he feels like he doesn't need to solve it. His teacher and I don't like it. So on tests he would still get it wrong even though his answers are right.

Library
Captain Underpants had a good day in school. He says that they moved desks around and he could sit with his friend Max again. The tables are grouped by 6 and he likes having Max near him. They don't really have alot in common except Pokemon and Bakugan. He wants to write a book with Max.
I have been asking him what he is doing in school and it just worries me that his teacher is not teaching him enough. There are no spelling this year and or projects that are easy enough for the kids to do. I agree with assigning projects when he was in a lower grade because I ended up doing everything but now he is older and he needs to think.
I have been thinking of ways to help him learn more. He's not learning enough and if it wasn't for that Independent Math of his I don't know what he does in school.
After school, I took him to the Royal Oak Library. We ended up getting so many books that I hope we'll finish all the books. Plus, yesterday I took him to the Ferndale library. I ended up getting some CD's for Super Diaper Baby because she likes to dance and sing.
Since daddy has the flu, I try to keep the kids quiet so that he can rest.

Inaugruation Day
Captain Underpants came home from school after being off for 5 days because he was sick on Thursday, Friday was no school, weekend off, and MLK day off. The flu must be going around because his teacher is sick today. He said the substitute teacher had them watching President Barack Obama being sworn in.
The kids wanted tacos for dinner. I had to make fresh salsa and cook the meat. Then I pour the salsa into the ground beef therefore giving it a better taste. Super Diaper Baby loves meat, so she just had meat, tons of sour cream and cheese. She ate as much as Captain Underpants. We corrected his individual math work and now he is ready to take his chapter 11, 4th grade test. He's in third grade but he's on his way to a 5th grade math book. That is the only thing that I like about it.
Super Diaper Baby was with my parents and they said she talked all day long. She also likes playing doctor and patient.

New Eye Glasses
Captain Underpants picked up his eyeglasses today. He said he likes them and he can see better but I don't want him to rely strickly on his eyeglasses so he is to use them in class. Super Diaper Baby wanted to eat "boa boa" which is bun. She likes those from the chinese bakery but since we were crunching for time, we did not stop to get some.
MLK Day
Martin Luther King Day was a good day. We went to our Henry Ford Museum to learn about history and they had events to celebrate Martin Luther King. They had speakers, kids events and reading materials for adults. They also had the Rosa Park Bus there.
Captain Underpants spent his time with Daddy looking at their interests while Super Diaper Baby hung out with her cousins and Auntie. Grandma and Uncle Mike went on their own. Super Diaper Baby really enjoy her counsin Izabella and they held hands most of the time so it was so
it was easy to keep track of them.
Super Diaper Baby and her Cousin J. Super Diaper Baby was so proud of herself while making Mr. Potato Head.
for Izabella. She had fun playing with the Lincoln logs. The cousins are standing in front of the Oscar Mayer weiner mobile.
We had to drop grandma off at work and than I was wrong about your hockey game time so daddy had to drive quickly. We were about 5 minutes late. Captain Underpants did not do too well and either did his teammates. That is probably why they lost 4-3.
Leaving the ice hockey rink, I ask Super Diaper Baby what I should call her. I named of names and she said "no". I said what do you want to be called? She answered "Princess"

Hockey Tournament Weekend
Captain Underpants had his hockey tournament and he played as good as he could considering that he became sick again. It started out okay for us and we won the first game on Saturday morning. Afterwards it went downhill. We lost the 2nd game bad. We were missing 4 players and only 9 players were there. The boys were so tired that they looked like they were just walking on ice. We won against Canton, lost to Port Huron, tied with Royal Oak. We should havewon and Captain Underpants should have gotten a goal but the referee said no goal. They did it again to us. So we ended tied with our house team Royal Oak. It was snowy and cold. The Thomas Edison Inn looked tired and old. It needed work. I got a chance to go to the mall on Saturday. It was small but I had bought a few things for Super Diaper Baby.

Happy Birthday Super Diaper Baby
I forgot to write about Super Diaper Baby's 3rd Birthday and her lovely yet fun party. I did not invite as many people as I normally would. Last year we had close to 40 or more people and this house just do not fit that many. This year I wasn't planning to throw her one at all and my friend Liza called and wanted to throw her daughter Katie a birthday party. She is turning 1. My friend has 2 daughter and she only throws a party for their 1st birthdays.
Daddy wanted to invite his friends so we decided that on her actual birthday, January 11th, we would have his friends and family. I ended up panicking because I thought I had too much food. I called some friends that I had no intention of inviting just yet. I could not believe the amount of food consumed by our guests. There were hardly any leftovers. Of course, I packed some for our friends to take home.
Daddy's friends whom she calls her uncles bought her lovely gifts and clothes. Our friend Chui and her daughter Emily came. Our guests included Elena, her boyfriend Tim, Ronny, Ramsey, his fiance Silvia, Sam, Fatima, Luis, Albana, Visiana, Mary, Brian, Mike, Julie, Winston, Dana, KK, and Mandy.
I can't believe she is 3 already and thank God that she is so healthy considering what she went through. Last 2 years, she had RSV. The first year before she turned 1, she had RSV and we stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks. They had predicted 1 month. She could not breath on her own and was in ICU for a week. Til this day watching my little girl with tubes and all. Don't ever trust a Dr. when they tell you that your baby is okay and send you home. Trust your intuition and get another Dr.'s opinion. I could have lost my little girl if my mother in law had not presisted for us to call. We had just seen the docter the day before and he said give her a week and she'll be fine. We trusted him and when we went to Emergency, they told us if more than couple of hours, she would have gone under arrest because her little heart would just stop because it was working too hard and too fast.
On a happier not, she is as healthy and happy as can be. I do worry about the winter months and whenever she has a fever I do get worried.
